Information I use

If you contact me, I may receive your name, email address, business details, website address, and the information you include in your message. If we work together, I may also receive project materials, correspondence, billing information and access details needed for the agreed work. Please do not email passwords or payment card details.

Cloudflare hosts or delivers this website and may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, browser information and security logs to deliver and protect the site. Google provides the email service used for correspondence.

Why I use information

I use information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, provide and manage agreed services, maintain records, protect the website and comply with legal obligations. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, the relevant grounds may include taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, security and managing the business, subject to your rights.

Information on client websites

When working on your website, I may access reservation records and other personal information held in your systems if needed for the agreed work. You generally decide why and how that information is used; I access it on your instructions. Before access, we should agree on the scope, access controls, confidentiality, retention and any required data processing and international transfer arrangements. Where possible, use test data or restricted access instead of real customer information. If you are a restaurant guest seeking to exercise privacy rights concerning a reservation, please contact the restaurant responsible for that booking.

Sharing and international transfers

Information may be shared with service providers such as Cloudflare and Google as needed to operate the site and email, and with other providers agreed for a project or required by law. I operate from China and may access information from China. Providers may process information in other countries. When applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or other safeguards, these must be agreed and implemented before the relevant transfer.

Retention and security

I retain enquiries, project records and billing information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including contractual, dispute resolution and legal obligations, and then delete or anonymise them where appropriate. Actual retention periods will depend on the type of record and applicable requirements. Access to client systems should be limited to what is needed and removed when it is no longer required.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you are and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a copy of your data, withdraw consent where applicable, and complain to a data protection authority.
